Moody Logistics has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sport in the North East with its continued sponsorship of Newcastle Thunder.
The Cramlington-based transport, logistics and storage firm is supporting the professional rugby league side throughout the 2019 season, having pledged its backing to the team last season. Moody’s has a longstanding affiliation with sports clubs and supporting good causes in the North East. One of its sister businesses, Heathline Accident Repair Centre, is a sponsor of local football side Wide Open FC, which it has supported for the last three years as Moody’s Transport Logistics Planner, Mark Fisher, manages the team.
Newcastle Thunder is the North East’s only professional rugby league club and Moody’s will once again have its branding on the front and centre of the team’s home and away shirts. The Thunder currently plays in the third tier of rugby league in the UK, in the Betfred League 1, and the team will be looking to improve on their 8th placed finish in the competition in 2018. Jordan Robinson, General Manager of Newcastle Thunder, said: “We are really pleased to have Moody’s back on board for 2019 which we are hoping will be a very exciting season. Moody’s has been a great partner of 2018 and I’m pleased they will be continuing on this journey with us” “This season Moody’s will also be the sponsor of our big annual community festival, the Moody Logistics Cup. Bringing the whole Rugby League community to Kingston Park for a huge festival is one of the real highlights of the year and will feature hundreds of local juniors from across the region playing the sport.” Moody Logistics is a leading family-run company, which specialises in pallet delivery, contract logistics, general haulage and container delivery across the UK. Richard Moody, Operations Director at Moody Logistics, said: “We are big advocates of sport across the North East, whether professional or grassroots, and we are delighted to be supporting Newcastle Thunder again. The sport is growing in popularity in the region, due to the fact the Rugby League Magic Weekend has taken place in Newcastle for the last couple of years. “We’re proud to be involved with the North East’s only professional rugby league side, where the club wants to invest in its team and strive for success. The future is looking positive for the Thunder and we’d like to wish the Thunder all the very best for the season ahead.”
