Moody’s celebrate 75th anniversary with an ‘Allout’ fun day for staff

On Sunday 8th May staff from Moody Logistics and Storage, along with teams from sister companies Heathline Commercials Ltd and MCR Services were treated to an activity day up on the grounds of Slaley Hall in Northumberland, at Allout Adventures to celebrate Moody’s 75th anniversary.

Moody Logistics and Storage was established in 1947 by David Moody who had a vision back then to create a trustworthy and reliable business, which at the time was delivering coal to customers around the Northeast. Fast forward 75 years and the third generation are now at the helm and running a very successful transport and logistics business.

The Sunday Activity Day began as staff embraced a morning of team-building excitement as they took on the challenge of being ‘Tracked’ - think camouflage overalls, compass, maps, and a radio as they navigated their

way around check points on the grounds of Slaley Hall back to base, all while being hunted down by staff from Allout Adventures on quad bikes. A challenge which brought with it hilarity, exhilaration, and plenty of adrenalin along the way! For lunch everyone descended upon Hadrian’s Brasserie at Slaley Hall to enjoy a hot buffet and refreshments… fuel for the body in preparation for an afternoon of activities.

The afternoon was a chance for staff to do individual pursuits to hone their skills and go out of their comfort zone. Activities included quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, Segway assault course, axe throwing and archery, with some staff choosing a less strenuous afternoon by relaxing in the spa facilities at Slaley Hall. There were certainly some tired looking souls by the end of the day, which simply indicated that it was a fully successful event! Before everyone headed home MD Caroline reflected on the day and spoke fondly about her grandfather creating the business all those years ago, as staff enjoyed a final hot drink and slice of cake. The day was everything we had hoped for and ticked all the boxes for creating a sense of camaraderie throughout the day. Some photos below that really show how fun the day was!
